Rodent Control: Warning Signs to Look For
Identified, explained, and diagnosed by specialists who see them every day. Free inspections at your home across our service area.
What Rodent Warning Signs Can Tell You
Each of these says something different about where the traffic is. Droppings mark the runways, because rodents leave them as they travel rather than in one place, so a line of them along a joist or behind an appliance is a map. Gnawed wires and wood say the rodent has been resident long enough to work on the structure. Scratching sounds in the walls at night tell you the level and roughly the cavity, and the hour is informative: most activity is in the first hours after dark.
Read them together and they give a route rather than a location. Droppings in a crawl space plus sounds in an upstairs wall is a rodent using a plumbing chase, and that chase is where the work belongs.
What these signs cannot tell you is the species or the opening. Mice and rats leave similar evidence at a glance and need different station placement, and the entry is usually somewhere nobody has looked, which is what the inspection is for.

Learn moreA Local, Family Owned Team in South Hill
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.
