Microencapsulated Exterior Spray For Spiders
A residual product applied after web dusting that keeps working for 90 to 120 days.
What a Microencapsulated Exterior Spray Is and When It Is the Right Call
A standard liquid spray works as long as the residue stays put, and on an exterior wall that is not long. Sunlight breaks the active ingredient down and rain washes it off. Microencapsulation changes that. The active ingredient sits inside a protective capsule, so ultraviolet light and water reach it slowly. The capsules also cling to the waxy coating and fine hairs on an insect's body, so a spider or cricket crossing a treated surface carries the product with it rather than brushing past. The result keeps working on rough block, brick, siding and painted trim for 90 to 120 days.
It is the right call when spiders are a recurring exterior problem, which in this region is most of the time. Wooded and lakeside lots stay damp, damp ground feeds the gnats, crickets and other small insects spiders hunt, and the house is where those insects gather at night under the lights. Spraying alone does little if webs are left in place, because the spiders behind them may never touch the treated surface. That is why the spray always follows web dusting in our service.
It is not the whole answer on its own. A house with a wet crawl space or a basement that holds humidity is producing the insect population that feeds the spiders, and the spray does not fix that. We will point out that condition when we see it, and correcting it is a separate piece of work. The product also does not stop new spiders from walking onto the property. What it does is hold the population on the structure at the lowest practical level between visits.
On the day of service, expect the technician to walk the exterior first, dust the webs down, and then spray the foundation line, the eaves and soffits, the trim around doors and windows, and the other surfaces spiders use. The application dries within a few hours in normal weather. We time the return visit to the product's working life, which is why recurring service returns through the year rather than once a year.
How We Apply a Microencapsulated Exterior Spray
Inspect the exterior
We walk the outside of the house and note where webs, egg sacs and spider activity are concentrated, and where the insects they feed on gather. Damp spots, exterior lights and gaps at the foundation are noted for the treatment and for your report.
Dust down the webs
We remove webs and egg sacs all the way around the house, from the foundation line up to the eaves and soffits. Removing the webs also exposes the surfaces the spray needs to reach.
Apply the microencapsulated spray
We spray the foundation, eaves, soffits, door and window frames and the other resting surfaces. The product goes on wet and dries to a residue that holds up through rain and sun.
Treat the interior where there is a reason to
If you are seeing spiders inside, we treat along baseboards and in the corners and closets where they are showing up. Interior work is done by need rather than by default.
Report and schedule
Before leaving, the technician tells you what was treated, what conditions are drawing insects to the house and when the product will need renewing, about 90 to 120 days out.
A Local, Family Owned Team in South Hill
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.
