Finding and Treating Where Flies Breed
The adults you see are a small part of the problem. The rest is developing somewhere you have not looked.
What Breeding Source Elimination Involves and When It Is the Right Call
The inspection starts with identification, because the species narrows the search. A technician looks at the size, color and behavior of the flies and where they are gathering. Small fuzzy flies at a sink point to a drain. Metallic green or blue flies appearing in numbers point to a carcass. Gray house flies point to garbage, pet waste or something decaying outdoors within a short flight of the house.
Then we follow the clue to the material. Drains are checked for the slimy film larvae feed on. Garbage and recycling areas are checked for residue, leaking bags and containers that are not sealing. The crawl space is checked for wet soil, a plumbing leak that never dried out or a dead rodent in a void. Gutters, splash areas and the ground around the house are checked for standing water and rotting leaves.
Once the site is found, it is either removed or treated. A carcass is removed and the void cleaned. A drain is scrubbed to break up the film and treated so the larvae in it do not finish developing. Garbage residue is cleaned and the container problem fixed. Damp crawl space soil that is breeding flies is a moisture problem, and because we do crawl space work, we can correct it rather than only point at it. Adults resting on walls, ceilings and around the source get a residual application so the population already in the air runs down.
Sanitation guidance is the last part, and it is the homeowner's. We tell you plainly what was breeding the flies and what to change: how garbage is stored, how often drains are cleaned, where pet waste goes, what to do about produce and recycling. Without those changes a new population starts in the same place.
Sometimes the source is not on your property, such as a neighboring farm or livestock. In that case we say so, treat the adults, and focus on keeping them out with screens, door sweeps and sealed containers, holding the numbers at the lowest practical level.
How We Eliminate a Fly Breeding Source
Identify the fly
We look at size, color, behavior and where the flies gather. The species tells us what kind of material to look for.
Trace the breeding material
Drains, garbage and recycling areas, the crawl space, gutters and the ground around the house are checked for the wet decaying material or carcass the larvae are in.
Remove or treat the source
A carcass is removed, a drain is scrubbed and treated, garbage residue is cleaned. Damp crawl space soil is treated as the moisture problem it is.
Treat the adults
A residual application goes where adult flies rest, on walls and ceilings near the source and around the entry points they use.
Change the conditions
We give you specific sanitation guidance so the same site does not start producing flies again.
A Local, Family Owned Team in South Hill
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.
