What Affects the Cost
Pricing depends on the size of the property, the extent of the problem, and how easy the area is to access.
An add on to the pest prevention program, for properties where the pressure never fully lets up.
Can fleas and ticks be prevented, or only treated after the fact? The honest answer is that on many properties a single treatment and good pet care are enough. On others the pressure never lets up. A house set into woods, a lot that backs onto a field or a creek, a lakeside property with shaded ground that stays damp all summer: these carry ticks and fleas in the surrounding habitat year round, and every animal moving through brings them closer to the house. On those properties, flea and tick protection can be added to the pest prevention program.
It is an add on, not a service on its own: it is only available alongside the pest prevention program. For it to work, the inside of the house, the yard and the pet all need to be treated on the same day, at the same visit, and the home needs to be prepared first. The office has a prep sheet that explains what to do before the visit, and the pet's own flea and tick treatment comes from its veterinarian.
The work concentrates on the margins, because that is where ticks and fleas shelter. Fan spraying covers the vegetation at the edge of the lawn, the line where grass meets woods, leaf litter, brush, the shaded ground under decks and along fences and outbuildings, and the resting spots wildlife and pets use. Open lawn gets little attention because little lives there. A scheduled application through the warm months keeps the population in those margins at the lowest practical level rather than letting it build unchecked between treatments.
What you can do alongside it matters as much. Keep grass cut at the property edge, clear leaf litter and brush from the areas people and pets use, stack firewood away from the house, and keep pets on the preventative their veterinarian recommends. Where wildlife shelters under a deck or in the crawl space, closing that access removes a source that reseeds the yard. We point these out on the inspection rather than expecting you to know them.
If you are already on our pest prevention program, ask whether your coverage includes flea and tick treatment of the margins rather than assuming it does. The general program is built around household pests at the perimeter of the house, and flea and tick work on a wooded lot covers different ground. We will tell you plainly what your current plan includes and what a scheduled flea and tick service would add.
We will not tell you that prevention removes every tick from a yard. Ticks and fleas live in the environment around a property and keep arriving in it on wildlife. What scheduled treatment does is hold the population at the edges people and pets actually use to the lowest practical level, and keep someone looking at the conditions that let it build.
We choose the treatment method based on what we find during the inspection and the type of pest problem on the property.
Generic advice treats every market identically. Humid summers, wooded lots and a great deal of older housing stock give this region a moisture profile that drives both structural damage and pest pressure, which is why our diagnosis starts with where the home sits and how it is built, not just with the symptom you called about.
For much of the year the outside air across this region holds more moisture than the air under a crawl space. That inverts the assumption foundation vents were built on. Warm, humid air enters through the vents, meets the cooler surfaces beneath the floor, and condenses on joists, ductwork and insulation. The vents intended to dry the space are wetting it instead.
That single mechanism explains most of what we are called out for. Damp framing softens and decays. Mold establishes and its odor rises into the living space through the floor. Termites, cockroaches and rodents are drawn to exactly those conditions. Treating the insects without addressing the moisture underneath simply resets the clock.
Around Lake Gaston and across the forested parts of Mecklenburg, Brunswick, Warren and Halifax counties, shade and tree cover keep soil damp well after the surrounding area has dried. Standing water lingers, foundations stay wet longer after rain, and mosquito habitat persists through more of the season. Properties like these frequently need drainage attention before any treatment is worth doing.
Petersburg and Danville in particular carry a great deal of older housing, and age brings construction details that predate current moisture practice: open crawl spaces with bare soil, wood in direct contact with the ground, original drainage that has silted up, and decades of accumulated repairs. An inspection of a house like that has to read the whole system rather than one symptom.
The signs below are the most common pest and moisture indicators we see in homes in our region. Any of them is worth having looked at during an inspection.
Our specialists evaluate the underlying cause before recommending any work. Inspections are at no cost and there's no obligation to proceed.
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.

Every home is different, so the cost depends on what we find during the inspection. We provide a written estimate based on the scope of work, access, and site conditions.
Pricing depends on the size of the property, the extent of the problem, and how easy the area is to access.
Scheduled prevention is more than you need for a one time flea problem traced to a pet, or for a property with open lawn and no wooded margins. In those cases a single treatment and the pet's veterinary care resolve it.
We put the scope and price in writing before work starts, so you know what has been recommended and what it will cost.
