What Affects the Cost
Pricing depends on the size of the property, the extent of the problem, and how easy the area is to access.
Drain flies live in the film inside the pipe. Spraying the wall above it changes nothing.
What are the tiny fuzzy flies on my bathroom wall? Almost always drain flies, also called moth flies. They are about an eighth of an inch long, gray or tan, with rounded fuzzy wings held over the body like a small moth. They are weak fliers. They tend to sit on walls near a sink, shower or floor drain and hop a short distance when disturbed.
Drain flies breed in the slimy organic film that builds up on the inside of drain pipes, in the trap under a sink, in a floor drain that rarely gets used, in a sump pit, or in a condensate line from an air handler. The larvae feed on that film. In warm conditions the cycle from egg to adult runs one to three weeks, so a single neglected drain can produce flies steadily for months.
They also show up somewhere less obvious. A pipe leaking under a slab, a drain line seeping into a crawl space, or water sitting under a loose tile creates the same film outside the pipe. When drain flies appear in a room with no drain, or keep coming after every drain has been cleaned, a hidden leak is the usual reason. That is part of what the inspection looks for.
Our approach starts with finding the drain or the leak that is breeding them. A simple check, taping a clear cup over a suspect drain overnight, tells us which one is active. Once we know, the fix is to remove the film the larvae live in, treat the drain, and treat the adults present. Pouring bleach down the drain rarely works, because it flows past the film rather than sitting on it.
Where the source is a leak or a wet crawl space rather than a drain, the fly treatment is only half the job. Because we also do crawl space and waterproofing work, we can tell you what is leaking and what it will take to dry it out, in the same visit.
Drain flies are a frequent call from restaurants and commercial kitchens, where floor drains, grease traps and beverage drip trays hold exactly the film they need. For those buildings we can set a recurring inspection and drain treatment schedule around how the kitchen operates.
We choose the treatment method based on what we find during the inspection and the type of pest problem on the property.
The adults you see are a small part of the problem. The rest is developing somewhere you have not looked.
Wet soil under the house is a breeding site, and drying it is the fix.

Generic advice treats every market identically. Humid summers, wooded lots and a great deal of older housing stock give this region a moisture profile that drives both structural damage and pest pressure, which is why our diagnosis starts with where the home sits and how it is built, not just with the symptom you called about.
For much of the year the outside air across this region holds more moisture than the air under a crawl space. That inverts the assumption foundation vents were built on. Warm, humid air enters through the vents, meets the cooler surfaces beneath the floor, and condenses on joists, ductwork and insulation. The vents intended to dry the space are wetting it instead.
That single mechanism explains most of what we are called out for. Damp framing softens and decays. Mold establishes and its odor rises into the living space through the floor. Termites, cockroaches and rodents are drawn to exactly those conditions. Treating the insects without addressing the moisture underneath simply resets the clock.
Around Lake Gaston and across the forested parts of Mecklenburg, Brunswick, Warren and Halifax counties, shade and tree cover keep soil damp well after the surrounding area has dried. Standing water lingers, foundations stay wet longer after rain, and mosquito habitat persists through more of the season. Properties like these frequently need drainage attention before any treatment is worth doing.
Petersburg and Danville in particular carry a great deal of older housing, and age brings construction details that predate current moisture practice: open crawl spaces with bare soil, wood in direct contact with the ground, original drainage that has silted up, and decades of accumulated repairs. An inspection of a house like that has to read the whole system rather than one symptom.
The signs below are the most common pest and moisture indicators we see in homes in our region. Any of them is worth having looked at during an inspection.
Our specialists evaluate the underlying cause before recommending any work. Inspections are at no cost and there's no obligation to proceed.
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.

Every home is different, so the cost depends on what we find during the inspection. We provide a written estimate based on the scope of work, access, and site conditions.
Pricing depends on the size of the property, the extent of the problem, and how easy the area is to access.
If the inspection points to a different problem or a simpler solution, we’ll explain that and recommend the appropriate next step.
We put the scope and price in writing before work starts, so you know what has been recommended and what it will cost.
