Web Dusting Then A Perimeter Spray
The exterior treatment that does most of the work of keeping insects out of the house, applied at every scheduled visit on the program.
What an Exterior Perimeter Power Spray Is and When It Is the Right Call
The sequence matters. Web dusting comes first, all the way around the house, under the eaves, around light fixtures, along the porch ceiling and in the corners of window frames. Removing the webs takes down the egg sacs and the dead insects that attract more spiders, and it clears the surface so the spray reaches it.
The spray follows. A powered sprayer applies the residual in a band along the foundation and the ground beside it, up onto the lower wall, around doors and windows, and at the eaves and soffits where wasps and spiders sit. Around penetrations, vents and the crawl space door the application is deliberate, because those are entry points. The product dries to a film, and insects that cross it pick up the active ingredient over the following weeks.
Microencapsulation is what makes a recurring schedule work. Ordinary liquid residuals break down quickly in sun and wash off in rain. In a microencapsulated product the active ingredient is sealed inside microscopic capsules that release it gradually, so the application keeps working through a southern Virginia summer. We see 90 to 120 days of activity from an application, which is why the Pest Prevention Program schedules its visits around it.
This treatment is for the general household pests. It does not treat termites, which need a soil treatment or bait stations, and it does not deal with rodents, mosquitoes or bed bugs. It also does not fix the conditions that draw insects to a house. Camel crickets and millipedes are moisture pests, and a damp crawl space keeps producing them no matter how well the perimeter is treated, so the technician looks at the moisture while there.
The visit is exterior, so you do not need to be home. Insect activity around the foundation often rises for a few days after treatment as insects cross the band and die. Spiders come back, because they walk in from the surrounding woods and yard, and web dusting every visit is how they are kept down. The goal is the lowest practical level, held there by the schedule.
How We Power Spray an Exterior Perimeter
Walk the exterior
The technician walks around the house and notes where insects are active, where webs have built up and where openings in the foundation, vents and trim give them a way in.
Web dust all the way around
Webs, egg sacs and debris are dusted off the eaves, soffits, porch ceilings, light fixtures, window frames and the foundation. This is done before spraying so the product reaches the surface.
Spray the perimeter band
A microencapsulated residual is applied with a powered sprayer along the foundation, the ground beside it, the lower wall, and around doors, windows and penetrations.
Treat the upper harborage
Eaves, soffits and porch ceilings get a residual application, because that is where wasps build and spiders sit. Entry points around vents and the crawl space door are treated deliberately.
Note the conditions
Moisture, wood in contact with soil and gaps at the foundation are noted and explained to you, because those are what bring the insects back. On the program, the next scheduled visit treats it again.
A Local, Family Owned Team in South Hill
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.
