Treating The Inside Along The Baseboards
An interior treatment follows the edges of the rooms where insects actually travel, and it is done when there is a reason to.
What an Interior Perimeter Treatment Is and When It Is the Right Call
The treatment starts with an inspection to identify what is inside and how it is getting there. The species decides the method. Sugar ants in a kitchen call for bait, because they carry it back to a colony a spray never reaches. Camel crickets and millipedes are moisture pests that came in from a damp crawl space, so the interior application is paired with fixing the moisture. Spraying without knowing what you are treating wastes product and misses the cause.
Where a residual application is the right tool, it goes along the baseboards, the wall to floor line and the areas the inspection turned up, not across the middle of the floor. The product dries to a film that insects pick up as they cross it. Crack and crevice work uses an aerosol injected into the gaps themselves: the joint behind a baseboard, the frame around an exterior door, the gaps around the kitchen sink and behind the stove and dishwasher. Bait goes where the insects are traveling, in small placements out of reach of children and pets.
Interior treatment is not right for everything. Termites, bed bugs and rodents each have their own method and their own page. German cockroaches call for a cleanout with a HEPA vacuum and bait or liquid, depending on how severe the infestation is. Fleas indoors call for treatment of carpet and pet resting areas with a week of daily vacuuming afterward. An interior perimeter treatment is for the general household pests that most calls are about.
The technician will tell you before leaving where the product went, what if anything to do about re entry and pets, and what to leave alone so the bait keeps working. Activity often continues for a few days as insects cross treated surfaces and baits do their work. What the treatment does is bring the population inside down to the lowest practical level and, paired with exterior work and moisture correction, keep it there.
How We Apply an Interior Perimeter Treatment
Identify the pest and its path
The technician inspects the rooms where you are seeing activity and identifies the species. Ants, moisture pests and occasional invaders each call for a different product and placement.
Apply a residual along the baseboards
Where a liquid residual is the right tool, it is applied along the baseboards and wall to floor lines in the affected areas. It goes where there is a reason to, not through every room by default.
Inject cracks and crevices
An aerosol is injected into the gaps insects use: behind baseboards, around door frames, and the gaps around the kitchen sink, stove and dishwasher. This reaches harborage a surface spray cannot.
Place bait where insects travel
Bait is placed along the trails and edges where insects are moving, in small placements out of reach of children and pets. Ants and cockroaches carry bait back to the colony or harborage.
Address the source
Interior activity usually has an outdoor or crawl space cause. The exterior perimeter treatment and any moisture correction under the house are scoped at the same visit, so the inside does not keep refilling.
A Local, Family Owned Team in South Hill
Rozier is a family owned, faith-driven company based in South Hill. Because moisture is what invites termites and rodents in the first place, real prevention starts below the surface.
We treat the infestation and correct the moisture conditions that caused it, instead of handing you to a second contractor.
Each home we visit is assessed through a pest lens and a moisture lens, because underneath a house they are the same problem.
We do not arrive with a predetermined treatment and a timer running. What we propose follows from what we find.
Children, pets and sensitive family members are part of the decision about what gets used and how it is applied.

Pest Baiting Systems
A bait is food the pest carries home, which is how it reaches a colony or nest that no spray can get to.

Pest Exclusion and Gap Sealing
Exclusion closes the openings insects and rodents are actually using, so fewer of them reach the inside in the first place.
